Bory of Bory
Formerly Bory di Santonius, an elven slave, he changed his name after becoming a man of himself. Yeah, he's not that bright... He's currently a LVL 5 Fighter in Darling's D&D based Dragon Age campaign (Fate Protects Fools, also called Not Dead Yet by us players). Character trivia to follow! (Stolen from here, but edited heavily: http://oc-meme-central.livejournal.com/20167.html?thread=967)
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Bory is tall for an elf (DA elves are usually shorter than humans), so about the same height as average human male. His also very muscular, albeit lean when compared to humans.
2. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He is fit and strong. He has a few scars all around but they don't hinder him.
He likes to walk briskly and lets the ladies have the horses if the party is short on them.
3. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He has average looks, not ugly, but neither is he handsome/beautiful. He doesn't really care for his own appearance, it doesn't mean much to a henchma/bodyguard. His facial scars don't matter to him, he doesn't feel conscious about them at all.
4. Describe his appearance (hair/eyes/clothes)? Black. Everything about Bory can be described as black :D He has messy, straight black hair, dark grey eyes (usually black because they are so slanted), black clothes... His clothes are the ones his master gave him when he was still a slave, it's a simple scaled armor on black leather. The metal guards are worn with use.
5. What does this character's voice sound like? How does he normally speak? His voice is deep and usually menacing. His native language is Tevinter so his King's Speech has an accent. He mostly stays silent but has been more and more talkative lately. He tries to keep his sentences short.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Bory is not smart. Period. He has never been taught much anything besides how to hold a sword and how to kill with it. He doesn't know how to read or write. In Tevinter he might have had street-smarts, but he is a fish-out-of-water when it comes to Ferelden/Orlais. He doesn't know how to act as a free man.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? Bory acts mostly on instinct and it doesn't take him long to take action. Especially if other members of the party are in danger. More especially so if that endangered party member happens to be an Orleasian magestress ;)
3. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? He's an adept fighter which is his main forte. He has a passion for cooking and loves to eat and prepare good food. He also likes animals and gets along with horses, dogs and cats alike. He wants to understand better how normal, free people should live.
4. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Introvert. Definitely.
5. Describe the character's temperament. What is he like? This depends on the beverage. ;) Default Bory is very serene and seemingly uncaring. Give him beer and he'll turn melancholy and all-out-emo. Give him wine and he'll show you a cheery and friendly side (that he'll be embarrased about the next morning). Give him hard liqour and... Well, let's just not do that, OK? That sword is mighty big and sharp, you know...
6. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? He seems pretty humorless, but he actually has dry sense of humor. You don't get many jokes from him though, most things he says, he really means.
7. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Slavehood. (Is that even a word? Well, is now.) Both in general and some particular points specifically. It's not fun to be an elven slave boy, when you're not much use in anything other than fetching water and satisfying your master's household's lusts. An other defining point was when he was freed from slavery by the other members of our party. He was mightly confused about tis at first, but he has slowly come to grip his freedom. Lastly, when he tried to free another elf slave but failed because she didn't want to be free. It made Bory realize just how deeply built slavehood is in Tevinter.
8. What does he fear? Swimming. Mostly because he'd drown with that armor and it's weight :D Also he fears that the magestress might get hurt at some point.
9. What are his hopes or aspirations? He now wants to free the slaves and drives to become strong and influential enough to do so.
10. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? Well, the part where he was raped when he was young could count as such. He wouldn't deny it and would tell about it though, if asked directly. (Although it might be because he just hasn't learned to not answer to direct question/command yet..)
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents/siblings. He doesn't know them. He was brought to the House of Santonius too young to remember them.
2. Does he have friends? Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? Not as such. He's starting to consider the party his friends though. He gets along with most people, but he's not too friendly with anyone.
3. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? He liked one elf slave girl when he was around ten, but he can't even remember her name anymore. Nowadays he has developed quite a crush on the party's mage, a human Orleasian woman.
4. Sexual orientation? How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? He's mostly straight. After the incidents in his youth though, he hasn't really thought of sex, or at least not in a good way. He has severe intimacy issues and hates being forced on.
5. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? He used to not believe in anything but following his master's orders. After being freed from slavery he has been introduced to Andraste and finds the church calming. He doesn't fully follow the religion though.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? He has never before had any posessions or money of his own. Recently he has been rewarded with his own cash and has proudly (albeit insecurely) bought his first own item: a novice fire rune.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? As said before, he used to be a slave, a worthless being at the bottom of hierarchy. Now he is part of a troupe which is doing miscallanious work/errands. As an elf, he's still not considered of much value when compared to humans though.
