Two Evils

Have you gotten enough of Fyrd? Maybe some Yuffie to spice things up? :P

My two evil/malicious/devious characters in a single shot. Some who have played in my RPGs might say that these two deserve one another XD But I think Fyrd raises more resentment that Yuf-Yuf. He is more evil-to-the-core type of being, at least so he appears to most player characters. Close to being omnipotent, he is a much bigger threat to any one who crosses his path. And my players have gotten the habit of steering away from anyone with red hair by now XD They are usually not ones to be messed with.



But for all his powers, Fyrd lacks humanity, which can sometimes be much more cruel than anything he does. Fyrd is driven by ambition and resentment, a need to be recognised. But these 'emotions' are more built into him than actual feelings. He doesn't feel love, or even hate. He doesn't really have a choice of being anything other than what he is. Which is cruel irony, as he is the God of Chaos, who opposes destiny and these pre-built futures XD So in order to really be what he wants to be, instead of what he was meant to be, he needs to gain empathy. Which pretty much makes him more of a good guy in the end.



Yuffie on the other hand, is just a bitch. She is self-entitled, cares about nothing but herself and likes to see others squirm. She takes actual pleasure on being higher or better than others and takes measures to ensure others stay beneath her. She fuels on very human emotions of jealousy, greed and possessiveness. She is kind to likes of Eiko, but in the end it is just to keep around the only one to call her a friend. And since Eiko is beneath her in social status and intellect (the attribute Yuffie most cherishes in herself), Eiko's not a threat to her entitlement. To someone who tries to challenge her, like Alexander, Yuffie is downright cruel.

Come on over, I won't bite... hard! XD

So although Fyrd's influece is bigger, I'd much rather face him than Yuffie. Yuffie's wrath only concerns a few people, but she wants to see them even more miserable.
